Baby Shower
This past weekend, we took advantage of General Washington's birthday and traveled up to Albany, where our Moms were having a baby shower for us. Here's the cake, keeping with the sheep theme we've picked out for the nursery:

Our easiest assembly yet
The stroller arrived this afternoon, and we couldn't wait to put it together. Surprisingly, this contraption requires no tools, and really only comes in about 10 pieces. It wasn't a bad assembly at all. Not even any bickering between mom and dad.
On that point, I think Sarah and I have learned that there are a few things we just don't do well together. One is packing clothes for vacation. We're literally incompatible in that genre. Putting baby furniture together is a distant second. Distant. Luckily, I really can't think of anything else.
Still, we are a little worried about packing baby stuff. Especially if it requires disassembly.
Here's a shot of me getting my stroll on for practice:

Waiting for his/her friends to arrive...
As exciting as it is to think about the arrival of our baby, this week there's big excitement in awaiting the arrival of our baby's friends! Two of our friends (Brendan & Courtney and Lindsey & Chris) have passed their due dates and (as far as we know) are still anxiously awaiting their babies' arrivals. We're thinking of them both and can't wait to hear the big news!
Lots of action in there...
At my ultrasound this week the baby measured in at 3 pounds and 3 ounces! This is still big (68th percentile). It's funny because I guess I assumed every time the baby moved, I could feel it (since I certainly feel a lot of kicks and punches). I was surprised to see at this week's ultrasound that the baby is really moving all the time. It makes sense though. The baby is in watery environment after all so I guess I just feel the big punches!

Baby's first Super Bowl
If anyone ever teases this kid that he hasn't ever gotten to see his team win the Super Bowl, you can be sure (s)he'll send them to this blog. We got the proof.
Of course we werehappy ecstatic going completely nuts that the Giants won the Super Bowl. In fact, the only downside was that we were stuck watching the game in Redskins country. To alleviate this, we turned our computer toward the TV and put up a picture of our co-fans:
Of course we were

Nursery furniture
Two-thirds of our nursery furniture was delivered on Saturday. This morning, we set it up. Which do you think would be more difficult to put together?:
A crib:
Or a changing table:
The answer, unequivocally, is a changing table. The crib took us less than 1/2 an hour, and included no marital spats. The changing table, however, took over an hour, including a number of arguments over who did and who did not have any clue about how to put the part H (changing table slat) correctly together with Part B (changing table side). Sixteen dowels, 18 bolts, two allen wrenches, and 15 boil-overs later, we now have some beautiful furniture.
