Memorial Day Weekend, Part II
On Sunday night, SJC, Anna, and I went to Viva Vienna, the annual town fair/carnival, which takes place in downtown Vienna on the town green. Sarah wanted to ride the freefall, and since we didn't want to take Anna out of the Baby Bjorn, Anna got to ride it too! Here are some pictures:
Ok, so they didn't actually ride the Super Shot. But we had a great time at the carnival!
Memorial Day Weekend, Part I
We had a big Memorial Day weekend. Dad had Friday off from work, so we got to spend a lot of time together as a family. The Sherwin family came to visit us on Saturday, giving us the opportunity to observe a full scale circus of kids.
Kate, Thomas, Gabe, Steve
On Sunday, we took Anna to church for the first time. She was so well-behaved!

TIme for a tubby!
A week with Nana
So, Nana left yesterday afternoon. Needless to say, everyone was sad. But we had a great week. Nana gave Anna lots of snuggle time, and went on trips with her to the stores, and went out for ice cream, and made Mom and Dad great dinners, and did lots of cleaning too. Anna and Nana also did some comparison shopping of bouncy-seats at Babies R' US (pictures coming soon!).
We can't wait for her to come back! Our only fear now is that Anna has gotten spoiled by all the holds and attentions from the last two weeks. Back to just boring old Mom and Dad!

More visitors
Grandma left town on Saturday morning. Unsatisfied with just her parents, Anna invited Aunt Becky and Uncle Jeff to visit for the weekend. And Nana to come for a week on Sunday night!

First date
SJC and I went out for ice cream tonight....without Anna (!), who stayed at home with Grandma as a babysitter. It was certainly a strange feeling, more so for SJC than I, since I have been going to work each day. But for Sarah, it was literally moment one away from the baby.
Overall, Grandma has been incredibly helpful this week. In addition to making us dinner and giving Anna endless holds, she has trimmed all of our bushes, weeded the front and back yard, pruned the oak tree in our front yard, ironed all my shirts, done our laundry, and cleaned our house. Looks like Nana has a lot to live up to next week!
Last night, our friend Jessie came over and made all of us (well, not Anna) mushroom crepes, which were absolutely delicious. I think SJC and I are getting spoiled by all these wonderful visitors. Of course, the party shows no signs of stopping: my sister and brother-in-law are coming this weekend, and my mom is coming for the week next week.
Anna has run the extremes this week. Today, according to SJC and Grandma, she was a little angel, eating well, sleeping well, and spending her awake non-feeding time looking around and being very well behaved. Yetserday, however, she was a constant fuss, spending most of her day screaming until someone held her.
No pictures today; our camera battery died a few days ago and I've forgotten to charge it.

Grandma comes to town!
Grandma is here to visit for a week. She's been spending tons of time just holding Anna, which seems to be popular with Grandma, Anna, and SJC! Here are some photos:

We're taking the traditional parent track and already finding all sorts of ways to make our kids roll their eyes 15 years from now. One thing we're bent on doing is the "photo with the same shirt every year" routine. We settled on two shirts. The first one is a canoe race shirt that Uncle Pete got from a race on Anna's birthday:
The other shirt is self-explanatory, although this picture sure is an ominous sign:

Doctor visit
Yesterday, Anna had her two week checkup at the doctor. Here are her new stats:
Height: 21.5 inches (+1.5), 90th percentile
Weight: 8 lbs, 15 oz (+8 since birth, +13 from her low point), 75th percentile
So we've got a big girl! The funny part is that her head circumference is only in the 25th percentile, which matches mommy's thinking that she has "the cutest little peanut head."

Mommy and Bananas and Gifts
I went back to work for two part-days this week, so on Wednesday and Thursday, SJC has been on her own with Anna. Next week, Grandma Sally is coming down to spend time with the family, but we thought two days on her own would be manageable. While it certainly worked out, it left us with one tired mama, shown here when I arrived home from work:
We've also been receiving a ton of gifts this week in the mail. (Thanks everyone!). By far the best packaging was sent by Jason and Raf:

Survey Winners!
Here are our survey winners:
Date: No one predicted April 27th, but Grandpa is clearly the winner predicting April 28th
Gender: The following people felt the girl vibe: Mom, Grandpa, Lindsey, and Janel...as well as Plaxico (which Uncle Dan claims is not him??)
Weight: Uncle Pete and Aunt Becky were both just 2 ounces off - nice job!
Length: Grandpa and Janel were both right on the money with 19 1/2 inches
Time of birth: Janel is closest again - she was 54 min. early with a prediction of 11 am
Someone asked what the prize was - well, I would say Anna is certainly the prize :)

Lazy Sunday
On Sunday, Anna turned 1 week old. And what a difference a week makes. Both SJC and I feel much more like we have a routine with her now, and she seems much easier to handle after 5 days of being home with her. During the day yesterday, we went for a walk, watched basketball, and ate our lunch outside. Anna also got a visit from our neighbor Jennifer, who brought us delicious lasagna:
That's not my mom!
That's mommy!
This morning, we've been fooling around with the video capacity of our camera. Here's Anna's internet debut:

Uncle Dan and Aunt Bridget come to visit
Dan and Bridget came down from New York yesterday to see us. Anna took them for a nice walk and was kind enough to let them hold her.

Bridget too!

This morning, Anna took her first ride in her swing, which was generously loaned to us by a friend Sarah used to work with in Niskayuna. Anna loved it!

Another day, another roll of cute pictures
Yesterday, I did some shopping while SJC hung out with Anna. I went to Babies R Us and got Anna some pink clothes - a swaddler and two outfits. Today, Uncle Danny and Aunt Bridget are coming to visit!
