The girls had a great time at Viva Vienna this year! On Sunday they had fun doing rides with Mia and Isabel and on Monday they had fun going on rides with Teagan and Caitlynn and showing Grandma and Grandpa their favorite rides. Just like Anna & Abby, Elizabeth got to experience her first carnival as a newborn :)

Good-bye frogs and turtles
This week was Anna & Abby's last week of preschool for the year. And for Anna, today was her last day of preschool ever! It seems like just yesterday we dropped her off with tears in her eyes in the turtle class with Miss Cookie and Miss Brigitte only to pick her up 3 hours later and have her announce, "Tomorrow I think my teachers are going to be Miss Elmo and Miss Big Bird!"
Anna & Abby have both had a great year of preschool. This year Anna still took great joy in her craft each day. She also connected more with her classmates than ever before. She loved to recount her playground stories to us, which mostly consisted of playing "Scooby" with the other kids. Her favorite job this year was "question of the day" and "weather." Each week Anna studied a different letter and she enjoyed searching the house for something to share with the class that started with that letter. She loved her teachers, Mrs. Eagan and Mrs. Reichert, and we were sad to learn that they are both retiring this year.
Abby loved her year as well. Abby shared a lot of stories with us about her classmates, her snacks, special toys, and what they were learning about. She especially enjoyed her chapel class every Monday and often shared the story with us at home. She enjoyed dressing up in different colors for the color of the week. She also loved her art projects and loved to explain to us how she made them. She had a great year with Miss Cookie and Miss Brigitte and we were also sad to hear that Miss Brigitte is moving this summer as well. Good-bye to 3 great teachers at VPCP!

Happy 2 week Birthday, Elizabeth!
Elizabeth is 2 weeks olds today. She had her 2 week check-up this morning. She is 9 lbs and 10 oz, which is the 90th percentile for weight and 21 1/2 inches, which is the 90th percentile for height. The doctor said she is doing great!

Thank you, Nana!
This afternoon we said good-bye to Nana, who has been here helping us since Elizabeth was born. Between Elizabeth being a good night time sleeper so far and Nana helping with everything around the house, newborn craziness has not seemed that crazy so far. Thank you so much for all your help, Nana! We will miss you, but will see you very soon!

Justin Roberts concert
As I mentioned before, on Anna's birthday we took the kids to see Justin Roberts - their favorite musician. The girls loved it and so did Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma!

Birthday week!
As I'm sure most of you know, Elizabeth's birthday (4/30) fell right in between Anna (4/27) and Abby's (5/2) birthdays. Including Grandma (4/21) we have an amazing week of celebrations. Grandma & Grandpa arrived on 4/24 to await the arrival of the new baby. We surprised Grandma with a little party that night:
On Saturday we celebrated Anna's birthday. We started the day off going
to a concert of Anna's favorite musician - Justin Roberts. For dinner
we had her favorite pasta and rolls followed by a new cake recipe that
she chose from a cookbook: Boston Creme Pie, which she helped Mommy
make.
Then Elizabeth perfectly timed her debut by arriving on 4/30 so Mommy and Daddy could be home on 5/2 to celebrate Abby's b-day. Abby's dinner included many of her favorites - hot dog, guacamole, and watermelon. For dessert she also got a new cake that she picked out from a cookbook: Cherry Berries on a Cloud, which she helped Nana & Grandma make.

Yes, I did install it on my own while taking care of Elizabeth...or maybe the company installed it :)

Welcome Elizabeth Grace!
At 6:30 am on Tuesday, April 30th, Elizabeth Grace was born! We couldn't be happier to welcome her to our family. Anna, Abby, Grandma, Grandpa, and Nana all visited us at the hospital. We came home on Thursday in time for Elizabeth to help us celebrate Abby's 3rd birthday. Elizabeth is doing great as she is eating well, sleeping well, and has already started gaining back weight. She is very sweet and cuddlely. She loves to be held and does not like to get her diaper changed, clothes changed, or checked by doctors. Anna and Abby are already great big sisters. They both love to snuggle and kiss her, help to burp her after feedings, help Mommy by getting things, and have been working on her first year baby calendar.
at 8 lbs. and almost 13 oz., she's the "biggest" sister
a family of 5!
ready to go home!
