Baby's first Super Bowl

If anyone ever teases this kid that he hasn't ever gotten to see his team win the Super Bowl, you can be sure (s)he'll send them to this blog. We got the proof.

Of course we were happy ecstatic going completely nuts that the Giants won the Super Bowl. In fact, the only downside was that we were stuck watching the game in Redskins country. To alleviate this, we turned our computer toward the TV and put up a picture of our co-fans:

Nursery furniture

Two-thirds of our nursery furniture was delivered on Saturday. This morning, we set it up. Which do you think would be more difficult to put together?:

A crib:


Or a changing table:

The answer, unequivocally, is a changing table. The crib took us less than 1/2 an hour, and included no marital spats. The changing table, however, took over an hour, including a number of arguments over who did and who did not have any clue about how to put the part H (changing table slat) correctly together with Part B (changing table side). Sixteen dowels, 18 bolts, two allen wrenches, and 15 boil-overs later, we now have some beautiful furniture.

Super Bowl Sunday (almost 29 weeks):

No sitting!

Over the past few weeks I've been starting to have some back pains. They occur only sometimes and are pretty painful. I've noticed they happen at odd times, so I've been trying to figure if when they occur has anything to do with why they occur. Today, I think I finally put the pieces together...they are caused by sitting...I'm serious. Laying down is okay, standing is okay, walking around is okay, but sitting is no good. It takes about 15 minutes of sitting for them to kick in. Here's my evidence:

1. They always kick in at 2:00 on work days. Why? I finish teaching at 1:45 and sit down at my desk.

2. I'm usually okay on the car ride to and from work. Why? My commute is 10 mintues (YES!!)

3. On Monday I had to drive to a different school for a meeting. The ride was 25 min. & I had to pull over and lay down for a few minutes both on the way over and back to get the pain to go away!

This may seem odd for a pregnant woman to say, but I'm glad that my job requires me to be on my feet for most of the day...we'll see how I feel about that at month 9 - yikes!

Okay, it's 2:00, time for a walk around the classroom...

Okay, so maybe Matt & I imagined this, but we both believe that last week we "played" with the baby.  The baby was in a really active mood, giving me huge kicks and punches in all different places.  The baby seemed to punch (or kick) a few times right above my belly button so Matt pressed back in the same spot.  We both really thought the baby responded back and forth with Matt  few times & they both even pressed at the same time a few times.  So maybe it is our imagination, but in our minds we played with the baby.

 

Of course that night I had a dream that we took the baby out to play with it - anything can happen in a dream right?  Well, even in the dream we panicked about how to get the baby back in to keep growing....
