Happy Birthday, Nana!

A couple weeks ago we headed to Albany to celebrate Nana's 60th birthday! We had a great time celebrating with her and spending time with family. Here are some shots from the party:

For the past couple months Anna has taken a great interest in building with blocks. Here she is busy at work on one of her creations:

So long vacuum cleaner...

Today Anna found a new game she likes to play. She walks around the house looking for small pieces of garbage (a piece of lint, piece of a leaf, ect.). She then picks it up, walks it to the garbage can, lifts the lid, and pops it in. The only problem is that she's not that good at finding the garbage so mostly I have to point it out to her. Although she did do the cutest thing to look for it: bend over and put her head right to the floor - as if the little pieces of garbage are so small that that is the only way she will find them.

a fall day...

We had quite the fall day today complete with picking applies, playing football, watching football, and making apple pie. Dad and Anna started their day in their matching jerseys. Then we headed out to do some apple picking. Anna can't believe that there is a place where apples grow on trees - crazy!

Anna caught onto picking right away and really liked it...

but liked eating the apples even more...

and sharing them :)

headed home with a full basket :)

Back to the beach

We have had another fun week starting when Nana came to visit us last weekend. Then on Wednesday Nana, Anna, and I drove down to North Carolina to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Anna has had a great time hanging out with her grandparents for the past week. She has especially enjoyed the beach this week, where she searched for shells, built (and destroyed) sandcastles, waded in the waves, buried people in the sand, and of course, her new favorite beach game: building a pond in the sand, which she can then sit in.

I love hanging with all my grandparents!

a visit to a farm!

Today one of our playgroups met at Frying Pan Farm Park. Anna seemed very excited this morning when I told her we were going to a farm. She loved seeing all the farm equipment and the animals. She especially liked when a cow mooed at her, petting a goat's nose and a sheep's ear, and taking a tractor ride around the farm.

Anna was fascinated by watching and listening to the chickens. They were a noisy bunch!

On the tractor ride with Isabel and Elyse

Elyse is into holding hands and surprisingly, Anna liked it too! They actually walked around the park like this a few times!
